Since mom hasn't been good about posting lately, here's our Instagram feed... We're much more frequent there. And once there's a way to automatically make a new post from Instagram, we'll be all over that.
Sorry we've been absent lately! We've been having so many fun adventures this summer! One of them was a trip to the Indiana Dunes State Park and lakeshore. Mom knew I loved the beach by our house (which is now closed to dogs! Boo!). So, she has been trying to find dog friendly beaches here in Indiana for us to visit.
Mom said we're going back in a couple weeks! This time with my mom's friend and her two whippets. I'm not crazy about sharing my car for such a long drive, but I'll be sure to tell them who's boss.
For Mom's birthday, we visited a huge city park that we had never been to before. It was so big, it was almost overwhelming to drive around. Mom finally just parked and we chose a random trail, relying on her phone GPS to get us back to the car. I could have told her there was no need. I could have led us back there no problem! Mid "shake"
This log looks interesting.
"I'm the king of the world!"
Okay, done here. On to the next...
After our day visiting the park, Mom stopped off at a frozen yogurt place that had froyo just for dogs! Yum!
If Mom hasn't mentioned, I shed. A LOT. So when we had the opportunity to try out and review Kong's new ZoomGroom, Mom jumped at the chance. Now, I haven't minded any of the de-shedders that Mom has used on me. But man, this is like a massage. Keep going as long as you think you need.
As you can see after a couple passes, my hair sticks to the ZoomGroom pretty well. Though, even more was left on my back. Mom says she'll be doing this mostly outside like the other grooming tools we've tried. It brings up just as much hair as other tools. But Mom's favorite thing about this product is that the teeth aren't sharp. And since there are no sharp edges, she can carry it around easier in her purse. AND it won't irritate my already sensitive skin and dry it out like the sharper, harsher tools.
As you can see by my face after Mom was finished, this is my favorite grooming tool too!
There's a new beach by our neighborhood! Sure, it's just a small, man-made lake. But hey, it's a sandy beach that (so far) allows dogs.. I'm excited to check it out!
Then came the day we added a little more time and distance to our walk on a hot day...
And I surprised Mom by walking into the lake (to drink) and actually pulled to try to go out deeper! Mom says now that she knows I can tolerate water, that she's not going to believe me when I act scared of baths. Uh oh. Secret's out!
Mom has wanted to attend a dog show ever since she saw the movie "Best in Show." Plus, she loves seeing all the different breeds. Last weekend she finally got to go to her first dog show, the Roy Jones Winter Classic at the state fairgrounds.
Of course, she gushed over the cute Beagles. And apparently, she saw and pet a ton of other breeds, but who does she take the most pictures of???
Yeah, the Shar Peis!
These two were loving all over mom. (I smelled them on her when she got home.) Mom can't get enough of puppies. I don't see what the big deal is. They're way too hyper for my taste.
Mom says they gave her tons of kisses, way more than she ever gets from me.
Hey, I'm more of a cuddler than a kisser.
Mom said she was in Shar Pei heaven.
This puppy got tired out after showing. Ah, the life of a show dog. Must be hard work being so cute!
