You Can Never Have Too Many Toys
Here’s the new pig toy I got for my Birthday. It’s one of those kinds without the stuffing. I like to carry it around with me and just keep biting on the pig’s head over and over.
Mom’s favorite part about watching me chew on my toys is to see what happens to my nose.
Sometimes, she’ll push on the bump on my nose to make it go down. But it pops right back up again.
Have I mentioned I get easily distracted?
Pedigree All Natural DentaStix are my favorite things to chew on. And for a dog who’s pretty picky when it comes to treats, I make it disappear fast!
And for your viewing pleasure, here’s a video of me playing with my pig toy. Yes, I’m even serious when playing sometimes.

My Birthday and Mutt Strut Recap!
As most of you know, Sunday was my Gotcha Day. And since Mom got me from the Humane Society a year ago, she doesn’t know when my actual Birthday is, so we celebrated it on my Gotcha Day! I’m now 3 years old!
Mom gave me my favorite treat before leaving for church in the morning. Pupcakes from 3 Dog Bakery!
When she came home, it was time to leave for Mutt Strut!
Thankfully, we left really early, because the traffic was awful! It was so crowded! More than 10,000 people and pooches participated in the 2 ½ mile walk around the Indy 500 Speedway!
When we finally got parked, we checked-in, and walked around some booths.
Then, it was time to meet up with Mom’s work colleagues.
I wasn’t too sure about all of this. There were too many dogs and it was crowded. I stuck by mom’s heels and tried to hide most of the time. Plus it was hot!
But then, who showed up? My best pal Sandy!
Then, all of the sudden Gizmo was there! Two of my best friends from the dog park! So, I definitely perked up and was ready to go on our walk around the Speedway!
All of the parents thought maybe we should stick to the 1 mile track because of the heat, but we couldn’t find it. So, we just decided to try out doing the full 2 ½ miles.
We walked.
And walked.
And walked some more.
There were a lot of water stops along the way, but most of them smelled like too many other dogs. So Mom had to try to give me water out of my own bottle. Most of the time, I didn’t want any though. So Mom figured I was fine. Which I was. In fact, during the last half mile, I got my second wind and was bouncing around happily.
Then, all of the parents wanted to stop and get pictures taken when we finished the track.
I just wanted to get home.
All-in-all it was a great Gotcha Day! I even got a new toy that I attacked this morning when Mom was getting ready for work. Last night, I was too tired to do anything but sleep.

Details On My New Harness
Since several people have asked about my new no-pull harness, I’ll tell you about it. It’s actually the only one mom found with padding under the arms, to help keep from chaffing. The brand is Sporn and it comes packaged, unlike a lot of the cheaper brands. Mom got it at PetSmart, but I’m sure other places sell it.
Here’s a link to it at PetSmart: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3046157
And here’s the website for the actual brand: http://www.sporn.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=SPUS3
I’d suggest trying it on in the store to make sure it fits. But for those that can’t, I got the medium size which says it fits up to a Golden Retriever. I might fit in the smaller size, but mom figured the medium because of my huge neck and barrel chest.
It just slips over the head, and mom pulls my legs through the padded arm holes one by one. Then just adjust the neck to fit. I don’t mind mom putting it on me at all, since I know I’m getting to go on a walk!
Now, I’m going back to sleep. Need to rest up for Mutt Strut!

Double Vision
As promised, here are some pics of me wearing my new harness. Mom says is works wonders. When I catch a scent of something, I still sometimes slowly start to pull, but that’s about it. No pulling while running ahead of mom. I recommend this one because of the padding under my arms, so no chaffing.
And because it was finally sunny out last night when mom got home from work, we went to the dog park! But when we got there, I saw a funny sight.
Who is this? She looks an awful lot like me!
It’s my twin!
Mom asked this other Sharp Eagle’s mom, and she said she got her from the same Humane Society, but when she was just a puppy! And we’re about the same age, around 3 years old! We might be littermates… who knows! But it was really funny for the moms to watch us doing the same things at the same time, like rolling in the grass and shaking right after.
Everyone who came in thought Kayla (the other Sharp Eagle) was me! Too funny. In fact, the only way to tell us apart from a distance is that Kayla’s tail is straight, unlike mine that’s always curly. Up close, you can see that Kayla’s face isn’t quite as wrinkly and more rectangular. Also, she’s a lot thinner. Hey, it’s not my fault that I’m curvy (or barrel-chested). Kayla’s mom said she’s a good eater, unlike me. And there’s not an ounce of fat on me, so mom’s not worried about it. Oh, and I’m a faster runner! But I get a lot of practice at the park, being a regular and all.
