There are certain large dogs at the dog park that Laney isn't so fond of. When one shows up, she has a spot right at our feet that I shall name "Laney's Hideout." Though the other people don't seem to mind, it means they actually have a chance to pet her, since otherwise she's out running faster than anyone could catch. And she soaks up the attention.

That sounds very smart! I don't like big dogs much either and would join Laney under the bench.

We still try to get her to get out and play with the dogs she knows. But she'll have none of it. The first chance she gets, she cowers back to the bench.
