So, it grew on me, okay?

I'm So Over the Snow
Well the snow was fun while it was only a couple inches deep. But 10 inches is too much. If it's up to my belly, I'm not walking in it. Mom shoveled this much out for me to potty.
You've got to be crazy if you think I'm going back out there.
Thank goodness I have a bladder of steel.
But look at it all.
You've got to be crazy if you think I'm going back out there.
Thank goodness I have a bladder of steel.

Happy and Silly
Not much is new, since it’s been so cold out. Mom says there’s a winter storm warning in effect. Whatever that means. All I know is that it’s too cold to go on long walks. And there’s been lots of snow for me to eat!
You’ll notice my tail wagging so fast in the above photo, that it looks practically invisible. That’s because Mom was talking to me and laughing. Why was she laughing? Well, it’s hard to see in the photos below, but I was a little messy when I was drinking my water and kind of made a mess on my face. All you can see in the photos are a couple of white specs on my nose.

I Like Long Walks By the ... Pond
It was 40 degrees yesterday, when Mom got home. So, she took me on a nice, long walk down to the pond. Though, to tell you the truth, I did more sniffing than walking.
Mom doesn’t really like walking around the pond because of the piles of poo everywhere that other dog owners don’t pick up. Even though there’s a stand with free bags and a trash can RIGHT THERE! But she knows I love walking through the grass and getting close to the water, so she still takes me down there. Plus, it’s easy to throw away my daily delivery while we’re there, so Mom doesn’t have to carry it around.

More Dog Park Fun!
That's right! Since I am all healed up from that virus I had, Mom took me to the park last night to play with a Yellow Lab named Honey that belongs to one of Mom's old friends that was in town. We had a lot of fun running around, as I chased her. And she was a great retreiver that brought back every ball that Mom through for her. But, when she got over-excited and started barking at me to run... I got scared and confused. And from that point on, I was ready to go and sticking to Mom's heals.
Mom was too busy trying to keep warm, that she forgot to take pictures. So, here is one of me trying to keep warm on Mom's bed. I didn't get a ton of exercise, but I went to bed as soon as I got home! I was tired!

Drawing of Sandy
Mom has been busy drawing! Here's a sketch of my Basset Hound friend Sandy that my mom did from a photo she found.
In other news, it's been in the negetive digits outside, so I haven't been out for very long. As you can imagine, mom doesn't like going on long walks when it's this cold! But I love finding bunny tracks and sniffing them!

New Books and More Squirrels
We got another package the other day from Dogster.com! Mom entered a contest on their blog to win “Christmas Is Good” by Trixie Koontz (and Dean, her human).
Mom wrote about how I bring her joy, and we won! Plus, they sent us “Bliss To You” by the same authors and autographed! Dean Koontz is a favorite author of my mom’s. So she was pretty excited.
In other news, I think the squirrels are out to get me. They’re everywhere!
Seriously, Mom?
I eat these guys for lunch.
Then, I pretend I’m a walrus.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond
Mom wanted to get some pictures of me laying on my new bed that Grandma bought for me for Christmas. Grandma didn’t think I liked it, since she never saw me use it. But look how soft it is! Of course I love it! Plus, I like to scrunch it up and try to hide my biscuits and pig ears in it.
And, of course, since it’s so close to my toys, all I have to do is reach over and pull a toy onto my bed to chew on.
I also had to have a bath last Saturday, which I’m never happy about. But Mom said I did a lot better this time... I stopped shivering! Yes, I’m gaining confidence that nothing bad will happen to me in there. But I still don’t like being wet, as you can tell. (My tail is down.)
Last night, I was playing around in my crate. I like to pull things out, move my bed around in there, and bury treats. Mom was in bed, when all of the sudden she heard me yelp in pain. She jumped out of bed and ran to the living room, where I came trotting over to her, wagging my tail. She checked me over, but didn’t see any owies. She figures I must have stepped on the ledge of the crate wrong and scared myself.
So, this morning, when it was time for me to go to my crate, (Which I usually do, without Mom even asking.) I hid under the table with my tail between my legs. I was still a little scared to get hurt in there again. But Mom put some treats in there and coaxed me out; and I decided to be brave and went back in my crate all on my own. Mom said she was proud of me.
But, hey, all I do in there during the day is sleep. So it’s kind of hard to get hurt doing that!
... Have I mentioned that I'm accident prone?

We Woof You a Merry Christmas!
Grandma bought me this funny (but noisy) new stuffed toy at an after-Christmas sale at Walgreens this weekend! I like to pretend I’m ignoring him when he starts singing. But when he least suspects it, I pounce!
Mom tried to get video of me attacking him while he’s singing “We Woof You a Merry Christmas,” but every time he started singing, I stopped.
I now know how to make him sing all by myself, by chewing on the correct leg. It’s just too much fun!
The first couple videos are of him singing, and me pretending not to care.
The last couple are of me attacking him, when he stops!
I’m so sneaky!
