Patrolling the Yard

I have a ritual every night when mom lets me out in the yard.
I patrol.
I may look like I’m just sniffing around, but I’m a good watch dog. And I have to make sure no bunnies are getting into my yard.

And no, I’m still not pottying out there, much to my mom’s chagrin.

While we were out last night, mom kept trying to take my picture. But I wasn’t feeling it. I decided to be stubborn and kept looking away from the camera.

P.S. from Laney’s Mom:
Later last night, I kept noticing Laney wandering into my bedroom. I let her know that she wasn’t allowed on my bed unless I was in there. And she does pretty well. So every time she disappeared in there, I’d ask her what she was doing. Usually, when I do, she comes walking (or running) out to the living room. But last night, she didn’t come out. I decided to go see what she was doing, and there she sat, just staring longingly up at my bed. Several times last night, she’d just sit there patiently, for quite a while, just staring at the bed. Then eventually, she’d come out and go back to her bed in the living room.
She cracks me up! And of course, I had to take a picture (below). She never broke her gaze from the bed.

Can I get on the bed?

Well, Laney, sometimes it's hard to get your message across to your person. Maybe she just didn't realize how tired you were and that it was bed time, darn it!

I'm glad you're have such a good time with her. I absolutely love her profile, btw. She is the coolest looking dog I've seen in a long time. And I have to ask - if she doesn't potty in the yard where does she potty??

CJ - Thanks! :)
I potty in the front yard.. just not the fenced in yard to the side. Mom fenced in the yard just for me, and I'm not using it how she'd like me to!

It looks like you're doing a good job guarding the yard. I think you are speaking eloquently to your mom. Sometimes humans just don't get it.

love & wags,
River

Good job at keeping the bunnies at bay, Laney! No wonder you were so pooped and wanted to go to bed! Couldn't your mom see that?!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

I am sure you do a great job patrolling the yard!
I have to say that the big bed belongs to me... and I let my mom sleep with me! Ha!

Hi Laney,
I keep trying to get my dad to let me patrol our back yard. I know I could do a good job. I've seen this black cat with a white stripe down it's back sneaking around out back and I'm sure I could chase him away, but my dad makes me go back in the house when he is around. I think my dad is a fraidycat.

Always fluffy,
Niqqi

OH my sweet Laney, you can sleep in our bed any time. We don't like to see you sad.

I could just tell that you were longing to be on the bed. All snuggled up.

Laney, go give your mom extra kisses and I bet she will let you on the bed.

Kisses
Addie
