Mom is happy that I don't know what the word "Vet" means since we usually only have to go 2 or 3 times a year. But as soon as we walk into the exam room, I know what's coming. Not cool. Do I reeeaally need to get poked and pricked and held down agaist my will? Mom says it's to make sure nothing is wrong with me. But I told her I feel fine!
So I try to hide under the table when the Doctor comes in. But that doesn't work. I do have to admit though. My mom and my doctor are the only ones that I let open my mouth and play around with my teeth. I'm also much more calm and less squirmy every time I have to come back. Even though he does stick me and steal my blood. And plays around in my ears, which I HATE. And give me shots... but lets face it, I don't even feel those since I have all of this nice extra skin thanks to my Shar Pei side. So, before long, it's time to go. At least, that's what I tell mom.

Hi Laney. I find it funny that you say you don't feel the needles because of the extra skin you have coming from your Shar Pei heritage. With my two babies - it's Char Siew the Shar Pei who seems to mind the needles a lot. Midori is like you - practically catatonic when the needles touch her skin.
Happy to hear you're a healthy dog. It seems like your Mom is a lot more rational when it comes to your vet visits. My dogs go a lot more often - because they have a Dad who is a hypochondriac for his dogs.

Oh, my mom can be a hypochondriac about me too! Though, she has relaxed quite a bit this past year or two. Especially, since I don't get in fights anymore.
No, I don't feel the needle, but when I SEE the needle I start squirming! When it actually goes in though, I never flinch.
How lucky that your vet visit wasn't too bad!
My name is Oskar & I have a blog that I'd love for you to check out, www.PetBlogsUnited.com. It's a great place for pet bloggers to find each other and get some exposure!

We don't really feel the needles either, but we don't care for going to the vet at all. I'm told that we have to go real soon for our shots and annual harassment and blood theft too. Like next week. Oooh, pooh. I'm glad you're healthy, though, Laney, but I bet you already knew you felt fine, right?
Momma calls those healthy vet visits unremarkable and they are the best kind. It can be scary because it smells like sick dogs, but you just be brave.

I can't wait to leave the vet either. At least you don't need to visit the vet for a while yet.
Glad you made it out of the vet's office in a short amount of time, Laney. :)
Crazy James doesn't mind going to the doctor, he is as happy as can be where ever he goes. But please remember that his middle name is Crazy so that might be why. ;) What Lucy says about going to the vet, I still don't know. However, I am soon to find out. ;)
Wishing you a wonderful Easter!
Lots of stinkin' kisses from Sweden
